The Mary J. Blige Center for Women

The Mary J. Blige Center for Women is a program of FFAWN, the Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, and is located in Mary’s hometown of Yonkers, New York. The program is a partnership between FFAWN and Westchester Jewish Community Center, and is committed to providing girls and women with skills, knowledge, resources, and support that will empower them to pursue their personal goals and become self-sufficient, confident women. The Center is intended to function as a “one-stop shop” for women, making resources more accessible and more customized than they are now, allowing the women it serves to gain access to services from which they would not otherwise benefit. The services directly offered at the Center include adult basic education and GED preparation, career exploration/work readiness, parenting education, college readiness, life skills training, health/wellness, family life & sex education, self-empowerment groups, mentoring, advocacy and support, and referrals to other community resources including mental health services and support for victims of domestic violence and abuse.
