Portland State University SWEET Lab
The SWEET Lab, with Bridges to Prosperity, a volunteer organization that empowers poor rural communities through footbridge building, is demonstrating pedestrian footbridge usage in rural Guatemala, through pyroelectric heat and pressure slab sensors, with remote GSM data access. These will guide Bridges to Prosperity in their assessment, implementation and monitoring, aimed at improving access of rural residents to markets, education and healthcare.
