LAUNCH: Beyond Waste
Fragile Oasis crewmembers Ali Llewellyn, Beth Beck, Ron Garan, Sean Herron, and others joined together for LAUNCH: Beyond Waste as part of our commitment to Do 1 Thing. LAUNCH is a unique program that aims to identify and accelerate solutions to the world's most urgent sustainability challenges. The current program cycle is focused on waste, and the finalists were chosen for their groundbreaking technologies and programs that address a broad range of waste issues, including waste-to-energy, ‘eWaste’, ‘upcycling’ and recycling, agricultural waste and conservation, medical waste, sustainable chemicals and materials, and improved sanitation. At the event, hosted at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, we took a zero-waste, leave-no-trace approach to our environment... all the way down to the wildlife on the center, composting food scraps, and reusable cups. We also invested heavily in the world-changers in the community (since collaboration is a big part of impact!) -- helping to focus everyone on making a different future for our Fragile Oasis. #Do1T
