We Are Not Alone

June 8, 2011

Summary

Started the day working with the Fluids Integrated Rack to change biological sample – worms – and check out the new microscope used to examine the samples.

Worked on the spacesuits that will be used by Mike Fossum and myself for spacewalks next month during the STS-135 mission. Meet Huey and Louie, Louie.

Spoke with students from South West College, Enniskillen, Northern Ireland via Amateur Radio.

Most of the day was spent on a network upgrade for the more than thirty laptops on the Space Station.

Thanks for introducing us to your buddies Huey and Lewy, the spacesuits. You may have spent too much time alone in space, Ron. I'm glad @Astro_Aggie and @Astro_Satoshi (and Sergei) are coming to the rescue on Thursday when their Soyuz docks. ;

Taking pics is easy. But the fans also want to know what they see. Looking forward to the postings. For all who don't know it. The image files are saved in JSC Houston computers that are accessible free of charge via Internet. Various query engines are available. The most recent pics taken (even if not posted on twitpic) can be seen here:
